A Christ Centered Recovery Ministry for Hurts, Habits, and Hang-ups

What Is Celebrate Recovery?

The Bible tells us, “that all have sinned.” It is our nature to sin and because of this we have all hurt ourselves and other people, and have been hurt by others. The expression “time heals all wounds” is unfortunately not true. Time prolongs the pain if we do not deal with the problem. Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered ministry that gives people the resources and relationships to help recover from life’s hurts, habits, and hang-ups. This ministry is for anyone struggling with past or current dysfunctions or compulsions, whether they are affecting their own life or the lives of those around them. The purpose of Celebrate Recovery is to fellowship and celebrate God’s healing power in our lives through the Eight Recovery Principles found in the Beatitudes and Christ-Centered Twelve Steps. This experience allows us to “be changed.” By working the Christ-centered steps and applying their biblical principles, we begin to grow spiritually. We become free from our addictive, compulsive and dysfunctional behaviors. This freedom creates peace, serenity, joy, and most importantly, a stronger personal relationship with God, others, and our Higher Power Jesus Christ—the one and only true Higher Power.

What Will I Experience at Celebrate Recovery?

AN AMAZING SPIRITUAL JOURNEY!

LARGE GROUP WORSHIP

7:00-8:00pm

This will be a time of worshipping God in song, reading the Word, prayer, testimonies and/or teaching as we set aside the busyness and stresses of the outside world. “Praise the Lord. Praise God in His sanctuary; praise Him in His mighty heavens. Praise Him for His acts of power; praise Him for His surpassing greatness. Praise Him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise Him with the harp and lyre, praise Him with tambourine and dancing, praise Him with the strings and flute, praise Him with the clash of cymbals, praise Him with resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. PRAISE THE LORD.” (Psalm 150:1-6)

READING OF THE 8 PRINCIPLES AND OR THE 12 STEPS AND THEIR BIBLICAL COMPARISONS OR READING OF THE SERENITY PRAYER

OPEN SHARE GROUP 8:00-9:00pm

These small groups meet immediately after the large group worship and there are separate groups for men and women and according to topic. There are 5 simple rules while in the share group:

bullet

Keep your sharing focused on your own thoughts and feelings. Limit your sharing to 3-5 minutes.

bullet

There is NO cross talk. Cross talk is when two individuals engage in conversation excluding all others. Each person is free to express his or her feelings without interruptions.

bullet

We are here to support one another, not “fix” another.

bullet

Anonymity and confidentiality are basic requirements. What is shared in the group stays in the group.

bullet

Offensive language has no place in a Christ-centered recovery group.

SOLID ROCK CAFÉ 9:00-9:30pm

Great way to close the night with fellowship at the Sold Rock Café. and enjoy some delicious desserts together.

STEP STUDY GROUPS

These groups meet a different night of the week and go through the 4 Celebrate Recovery participant’s guides together.
